Strength-based Performance Management

The evidence is consistent, if badly applied in practice: People perform better when they are managed according to their strengths, rather than penalised for their weaknesses. Our strengths-based performance management philosophy places the emphasis on performance, but harnesses strengths as the best way to deliver that performance.

For managers, it’s about setting stretching goals and providing timely feedback, helping people work to their strengths and manage their weaknesses, and above all maintaining an open dialogue that lets them know how they have done and why. But it’s not a one-way street: employees have to take personal responsibility for their performance and development as well. We’ll help you ensure that both happen, since strengths-based performance management is very much a two-sided coin.
